Engaging Your Creative Potential and Joining a Community of Like-Minded Creators

I wanted to start this post with one of my favorite quotes. This quote was actually part of an Apple advertisement from 1997 just after Steve Jobs had come back to Apple. For those few that may not know who Steve Jobs was, he was the co-founder of Apple. Research into the man who was Steve Jobs reveals that the words in the following quote definitely fits this creative genius.

"Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. While some see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do."

While the above quote definitely fit the founder of one of the greatest innovating companies out there today, I personally feel that there are actually a lot people who the quote defines. I feel that there are many people like myself who aren't satisfied with the status quo. We see a whole world of creative potential, and we want to be able to put our own creative stamp on the many things we see as ripe for change. All the individuals the above quote defines, have this intense burning desire to make a really big dent in the world, and hopefully make the world a better place in the process.

I believe we all come into this world with incredible creative potential, and some awesome skill sets to make our big dreams happen. The kicker is that we soon realize those big dreams can become overwhelming, and can almost seem impossible to accomplish. That definitely describes myself, and is the main reason I developed the MakerCreations site. As I explored my dreams for creating new innovations and making a positive impact on the world, it became quite evident to me that I would need to find some like-minded individuals to help create those big changes and innovations. As I've stated many times before, there is nothing more exciting to observe and be a part of, as when like-minded people are creating and collaborating together towards common goals and dreams.

Perhaps some of you reading this post have been feeling the same way about what has been talked about so far. Perhaps you too have a burning desire to use your creative talents to make the world a better place for everyone. Perhaps, even though you would like to engage, you are not sure this is the best community to join and interact with. Obviously, I can't answer that question for you, but I can say that MakerCreations was developed to become one of the premier locations for fellow creators to meet, interact, and possible work together on joint projects. My intent for building this portal was to bring together like-minded people with similar dreams and goals, and see if together, we could create some awesome innovations and products that might even become truly world changing.

As I move forward with this MakerCreations community venture, I plan to continue finding the best ways to create together. I will continue to post about what I've learned so far, and what I continue to learn as I work to both build this community and find the best resources to enhance the creative process. I will also continue to try and develop and use existing tools to create the best methods for collaborating and innovating together. With all that said, I truly encourage others to join me in this pursuit, and add your own unique skills, knowledge, and talents to this growing community. We too are the crazy ones, the misfits, the ones who see things differently, and the ones who can change the world.

Lets Create Together!
